Social Security Number Search

The Social Security Number is a vital clue in a people search endeavor.
A social security number is issued to all U.S. citizens who earn an income. Exceptions are social security numbers issued to children, people who are allowed to work within the United States but are not citizens and some persons who are not allowed to work but issued a social security number.
Social Security numbers are useful to locate a person in the U.S. There are several reasons, good bad and ugly as to why a person conducts a search for another using a social security number.
The good and harmless reason why people look for people with the clue of a social security number is to locate an old friend or estranged family and the natural parents of adopted child. SSNs are also used by people to research their family history. Geneology searches are an interesting hobby with an ever increasing following especially in the U.S. where records are not that ancient those papers cannot be traced. Sometimes the SSN search will reveal if the old friend is still alive or dead.
